Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio has also prohibited the governor or any legislator who voted for the bill to appear at [...]]]> Calling it “ruinous legislation” that has “deconstructed the single most important institution in human history,” the Catholic bishop of Brooklyn, NY has condemned New York’s governor and legislature for its action Friday to legalize same-sex “marriage.”

Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio has also prohibited the governor or any legislator who voted for the bill to appear at any parish or school function in the diocese.

“The above request is intended as a protest of the corrupt political process in New York State,” the bishop said on his website. “More than half of all New Yorkers oppose this legislation. Yet, the governor and the state legislature have demonized people of faith, whether they be Muslims, Jews, or Christians, and identified them as bigots and prejudiced, and voted in favor of same-sex ‘marriage.’ It is mystifying that this bill would be passed on the last day of an extended session under the cover of darkness.”

Parents in a northern Illinois suburb are puzzled over a controversial middle school presentation involving two homosexual men and a video that left some students in tears.

The May 27 presentation, on the subject of bullying and drug use, was put on by six people, two of whom were men who announced to students that they were homosexual. Parents, on the other hand, are wondering why the program’s permission slip did not mention that two of the presenters were homosexual.

One students, during the presentation, courageously asked one of the homosexuals if he had ever asked himself “What would Jesus do?” Afterwards the student was criticized by a teacher for his question.

It’s clear that the Civil Unions Law passed earlier this year, which gives full marriage rights to homosexuals in Illinois, has given public school officials another reason to smugly open the floodgate of the promotion of homosexuality. Read the entire story in at the Illinois Family Institute.

Adam Andrzeweski, founder of For the Good of Illinois organization, and 2010 Republican candidate for governor, will lead off our list of outstanding speakers at our rally on May 27 in Chicago’s loop.

At the rally, Richard Walsh of Americans for Life will be the master of ceremonies. The invocation will be by Hiram Crawford II, regarding his late father Hiram I, and we are honoring him as a courageous leader in the pro-life/pro-family movement. Before the horrific Roe v. Wade decision by the Supreme Court in 1973, he stood with God and never wavered…. Hiram II is the head of the black pro-life movement, and he will lead us in prayer.
