Welcome to Americans For Life
“It’s about God, Life, Family & America”
Americans for Life was founded in 1996 by Dick Walsh to defend the sanctity of human life at all stages, but in particular unborn babies and their mothers. Since that time, Americans for Life has sponsored and participated in dozens of public rallies and demonstrations designed to bring greater public awareness to the horror of abortion and the misguided governmental policies that promote the culture of death. Americans for Life is a non-denominational coalition of American citizens who are opposed to the decades of slaughter that has taken the lives of millions of innocent babies across the country. In response to the avalanche of pro-abortion and anti-life initiatives being adopted at the Federal and State level, the immoral use and destruction of human embryos for research, and the efforts by the Federal government to force health care workers to perform abortions.

Americans for Life Priorities:
Americans for Life is actively involved in defeating the FOCA bill currently circulating in the Illinois General Assembly which seeks to declare abortion as "right". The consequence of this would be that abortion would be "taught" to children in grade school as a means to end pregnancy, regardless of the spiritual and medical dangers this awful procedure leaves behind. Protests will be held at the offices and in the neighborhoods of the bill's sponsors to bring this to the attention of local voters.
STOP Homosexual Rights and Civil Unions
Homosexual activist groups from outside the state of Illinois have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to employ dozens of lobbying professionals to influence elected members of the Illinois General Assembly to grant additional "rights" to homosexuals in a effort to mandate public acceptence of their lifestyle. Illinois citizens must be made aware that as soon as this "right" is granted, homosexual activists have made it clear that their next goal is to begin indoctrinating children in public schools with the homosexual propoganda designed to recruit children into this lifestyle. Civil unions bills are only the first step in the homosexual lobby's plans for not only mandating acceptence, but using the force of government to silence opposition, which includes pastors, Christian citizens, doctors, concerned parents, and anyone who believes that the Natural Law is violated by homosexuality. Protests will be held at the offices and in the neighborhoods of the bill's sponsors to bring this to the attention of local voters.

May 22, 2009 March for Life Draws 1,000+
Notre Dame proved to be a fitting warm up for the Chicago March for Life, which drew over 1,000 marchers and a vocal few dozen protesters (pictures of the event will be posted shortly.)
The event began at 11:30 as planned at the State of Illinois Building and proceeded with a march for several blocks to the Federal Plaza, where a sound system was set up for speakers. Throughout the event, those who attended the rally heard inspiring addresses by Mary Anne Hackett (Catholic Citizens of Illinois), Tom Brejcha (Thomas More Society), David Smith (Illinois Family Institute), Jim Finnegan, Joe Scheidler (Pro Life Action League), Jill Stanek (Pro-Life Pulse), Dr. Kevin Dolehide (Catholic Medical Association), Peter Labarbara, and representitives from the Roman Catholic Archdiocesee of Chicago and other local churches.
Long time pro-life advocate Sandy Rios served as the event's master of ceremonies. Event sponsors WYLL radio ran announcements paid for by local businesses in support of the event.
"This event, and events to come, are intended to make a public statement to our elected officials that we won't allow our culture to be taken over by homosexuals, abortionists, and anti-Christian bigotry," said event sponsor Dick Walsh. "According tot he Constitution, our rights are granted by God, not by men. When liberal politicians start inventing rights that are contrary to the Natural Laws and undermine the family unit, they attack the very foundation of our civil society. It's un-American to assault families and family values like this, and we won't stand idle. We'll fight this in the streets as long as we have to," said Mr. Walsh.
Thank you, thank you, thank to our many generous sponsors!!
Permits for next years march are being applied for, and the next march date will be announced shortly. In the mean time, their are more public events currently being planned.
